KANGERLUSSUAQ
The town of Kangerlussuaq was built in 1941 as a part of the American presence in Greenland and today it is home to the main international airport in the country.
The airbase was in operation for a little more than 50 years before Greenland gradually took over administration control of the area and today the town houses abut 550 people.
While most people only experience the town while in transit between other destinations those who stay a night or two and explore the natural environment around town are treated to unique experiences.
Through a series of texts and images below we have told a story of the Kangerlussuaq experience.
