ILULISSAT
Nature puts on one of its finest displays in Ilulissat every day when mountainous icebergs float from one the most productive glaciers in the Northern Hemisphere and out into the Disko Bay right next door to this community of 5,000 people.
Ilulissat has grown into fame in the past decades as climate changes have become part of the mainstream public agenda and the icebergs of the nutrient rich Ilulissat Icefjord are the backbone of the experience for most visitors to this part of Greenland where halibut fishing and tourism are main economic drivers.
